Listen to Ainoa huoneessa on Storytel

Sara Salmani is an actor, producer, and a renowned public speaker. Her vision to break stereotypes and normalize inclusive representation has always been the main driver in her work.

Initially graduating with a BA in film and television, the inequities and exclusion of working life quickly pushed Sara towards striving for larger systemic change by building diversity and inclusion within organizations and industries.

Putting her film career on hold, Sara became one of the leading Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) consultants in Finland.

Sara created and consulted award-winning campaigns for organizations such as The Confederation of Finnish Industries, TietoEvry, Itis, Cloetta, and the Football Association of Finland. She also held hundreds of workshops worldwide for industry leaders such as Meta, Coca Cola, Oliver & Wyman, Finnish Film Foundation, MTV, YLE, City of Helsinki, and many more.

After realizing that it was time to focus again on her desire to work in film, Sara started to pursue her childhood dream of acting. Training with UK coaches, Sara has had several roles and is seen in Finnish TV shows such as Maria Kallio, Kämppikset, and Kaverikirja.

Alongside her acting work, Sara is also a producer. The short film "Fardosa", a coming of age-story which she co-produced, won an award at Tampere Film Festival 2022 and was nominated at the Nordisk Film Panorama Festival the same year.

Sara continues her work in film and TV as well as a speaker, and her first biography "Ainoa huoneessa" written by author Jani Toivola was released in December 2023.

A touching and thought-provoking true story.
